Considering the helplessness against a higher power, our society is momentarily paralyzed. We find ourselves in a loop of perpetual transition and movement, yet we are always coming back to what seems to be the same state. [not] to be continued is a machine acting as an instrument of hope, mobilizing our mindstates frozen in covid-crisis mode, and giving back perspective. Abstracting the search for relief, something seemingly unreachable and without a clear vision of it in our minds, the machine perpetually iterates through different scenarios, generating novel images through serendipity, only stopping when it has found what it is looking for. Right now we don’t know what we are looking for, we will only know when we are there. [not] to be continued is designed as a performance: Once the machine is startet, a randomized relief-pattern, unknown to everybody, is generated. The machine then continues to iterate through randomized patterns as possible solutions, which are displayed and accompanied by statistics, pointing to the progression of the search. Only when the displayed pattern matches the relief pattern completely, will the machine stop its search, forever engraved with the final pattern. Special thanks to Traditionsbus Berlin.

The Eigenmode Research Lab is designed towards the exploration of frequency responses of oscillating systems, to develop an understanding and to use these phenomenons in future projects. Nine DC-Motors with weighted offsets, elevated by a net of rubber bands, create a complex system. Every motor performs randomized frequency sweeps while actuating and getting actuated by all neighbored motors, creating unique compositions of interference, cancellation and spontaneous synchronization.

Condensed Coffee 2021, 2’21” 'Condensed Coffee' is an apparatus that drips a cup of coffee from the stream of Shibuya Crossing - the most crowded crossing in the world. The more the pedestrians cross by, the more the drips come. One day, I turned on this apparatus, and the coffee was a lot and thinner than I had expected. Drink a cup of coffee and say, "That's a lot."
Polymer £20 note of Queen Elizabeth II has the see-through window with her portrait. Through that window, the viewer is invited to watch the latent video which was generated by using two dataset, the faces of 317 great people extracted from banknotes and the faces of randomly selected Internet users.

Air Sculptures is kinetic sound installations that bring kinetic movement and indeterminacy of air into sculpture form. Responding the ambient conditions, they create endless amount of possibilities in sound medium. As an intervention in public spaces, “Air Sculptures” perform the ambient conditions such as wind and tries to emphasise the sense of a landscape. Özcan Ertek, 2020
In the context of designed uncertainty we explored the movement and presence of a person within a room. Distinct movement shapes your presence. As we move individually and depending on the context, our mood etc. presence is not repeatable and uncertain. The room is constantly altered by different presences. To amplify the presence we translated the physical movement and distinctive non-movement with sound in a restricted area. The sonification of the body movement defines the room and highlights the limits of the defined space. Every person explores the room differently - there is an area of relation between generated sound feedback and body perception. The use of a sound generating setup and sound trigger zones results in complex relations in the control processes. The room can turn into an instrument where you can guide your sonification of movement and actively control the musical outcome. The setup is a room with a xbox kinect which tracks your body movement in a certain restricted area. Although the room it self is bigger only in the "eyesight of the kinect" the movement will become audible. Certain body parts and movements are triggering different sounds as well as multiple areas are activated by entering with your body. Spatial relations of body parts alter the expressions of the sound through parameters. There is a direct sound feedback while moving through the space. To document the project we choose to work with a performer who explored the room possibilities and created her own sound presence.
Every early summer there is still a balloon festival for children in my home town. The postcards at the end of the strings refer to the young addressees and ask for them to be returned in a dear, recently learned handwriting. At the beginning of each summer, I, too, said goodbye to a helium-filled, red balloon in the blue sky in childlike anticipation. I never got an answer. Today I am still fascinated by the uncertainty of landing. The winds and gravity act on the light missile and open up a state for which humans have chosen a simple word: chance. Where will my balloon land? installation properties: fan arduino, relay [high 5000ms, low 700ms] red balloon string blue marker
